At E.B.B. Web Design we’ve been in the business for a long time – and we know that once you have a website designed, it doesn’t mean it will be effective for decades to come. Times and trends change, and so do websites! If your company’s site looks like something from the 90s but your boss doesn’t seem to think it’s a big deal, we’ve got a few tips to help you convince him or her.
Convincing your boss it’s time for a site redesign
Explain the overall benefits of a new design. Increased traffic and conversions, an improved company image, more user-friendly for your clients. Today’s websites are far more functional, dynamic, and appealing.
Browse your competitors online, then point out the differences to those in authority within your company. Look for great blog posts with lots of comments and explain user engagement. Point out the fresh content, design layout/color scheme, simple navigation, clean look.
Highlight the positive aspects of the company’s current site. Many people don’t adapt easily to changes, and have the attitude “if it isn’t broke, why fix it?” If this is your boss, point out all of the positives explaining how those things that are working can remain the same on the new website.
Mention mobile. Mobile devices are how people are searching the internet today; if your company’s website isn’t adaptive for smartphones, iPads and tablets, you could be losing out big time on prospective new customers and leads! If your boss is of the “old school,” he/she probably has no idea that your current website cannot be viewed properly from these devices!
A new web design can prove to be huge in terms of payoff! At E.B.B. Web Design, we are on top of what works in website design today. If your boss is dragging his feet, send him our way for further convincing of how important it is to keep up in our fast-paced society today.Google+
