Companies in Atlanta need to know that, while having a great website is key, a website on its own just doesn’t cut it today. How to drive targeted traffic to your website, and generate more interest in your brand? In a word, content. We’re barely into the new year, and if you’re not aware of the key trends in content marketing for 2016, we’ll enlighten you below.
Think quality instead of quantity. It used to be that businesses needed to crank out as much content as possible through daily blog posts, article distribution and syndication, and more. Today it’s all about quality. Your goal should be to create content that produces the best possible results in terms of shares, website visits, downloads, calls to action, etc. Essentially, your content should engage the reader in a way that generates leads and nurtures those leads. One exceptional quality piece of content per week is more important than five pieces of not-so-great content!
Keep visual content in mind. Video, animated GIFs, and infographics are a different type of content, but users’ preferences are migrating toward visual content mostly due to the increasing use of mobile devices. Be sure to incorporate visual content into your website pages.
Personalized content. Your content can target a general niche, or a very small segment of that niche. Which is better? For instance, suppose you’re in the pet supplies industry. Rather than creating content that addresses all breeds and sizes of dogs in general, break your content down further so that it’s personalized to owners of small-breed dogs, even specific breeds. Essentially, you want to segment your audience into specific groups, then serve up content that specifically addresses those groups. Messaging is not one-size-fits-all, so keep that in mind when creating content that gets results!
Did you know that:
- When compared to generic calls-to-action (CTAs), personalized CTAs result in conversions that are more than 40% higher
- The average conversion rate for most websites is only 2%
- Companies who provide a personalized web experience (much through personalized content) enjoy 20% more sales
Just some food for thought!
Keep these content marketing trends in mind when creating content for your website, landing pages, calls-to-action, blog, even social media posts.
