What Are You Doing In Terms Of Mobile Marketing?

June 13, 2014 by Scott Jay Ringle

mobile marketing

Online businesses today must be involved in mobile marketing, given the fact that more and more of the population is using smartphones – not just to text and make calls, but to search the Internet for products and services. As a trusted Atlanta web development company, the professionals at EBB Web Design understand how critical effective mobile marketing is to the success of a business. Here are a few interesting facts that will demonstrate to you just how critical!

A Pew study conducted recently indicated that today, nearly 60% of Americans own a smartphone. On average, these individuals spend two hours each day on their smartphones and other mobile devices (iPads, tablets, etc.) Because so many people do use mobile to access the web, it is vital that your company website offers a good user experience, that it displays properly and allows access to what the user is searching for.

It is expected that by next year, $400 billion in sales will be generated in the U.S. via mobile marketing. This is more than twice the sales generated via mobile devices in 2012, which reached $139 billion!

By 2016, mobile ad revenue is expected to double that of 2012, hitting more than $24 billion. Local ads, image ads, and mobile search ads are how many consumers find what they are looking for online. Many companies today – in fact, nearly half at 45% – employ application (app) downloads in their mobile marketing campaigns.

Social media, one of mobile users’ biggest addictions. Yes, people are addicted to Facebook and Twitter, according to the survey. Results indicated that by 2017, social media ad revenues will likely reach $11 billion. By next year, mobile advertising is expected to account for more than half of Twitter’s ad revenue at a full 60%. Last year, Facebook controlled nearly 16% of the ad market on a global scale – this is huge! Even though LinkedIn users are often not as active socially as Facebook users, studies show that users with mobile devices are more than twice as active as LinkedIn members who access the site only from their desktops.

It’s clear that every company regardless of size must engage in mobile marketing to compete, no matter what your industry. What are you doing to ensure on-the-go users find your products and services? At EBB Web Design, our Atlanta digital marketing team is ready to implement an effective mobile marketing campaign for you. Give us a call today!
